OK, Game of Throne’s fans: let’s say your favorite sellsword used to sing in a two-man 90’s cover band in England, practically discovered by Simon Cowell. Do you think there are times on set when the midget you do all of your scenes with orders you to sing? Or, better yet, fellow cast members sneak up behind him and start do-wopping songs to him? I want to live in the world where Littlefinger, Pycelle and Varys can break into “Love You Forever” at any moment.
Here are the facts: Jerome Flynn who plays Bronn on Game of Thrones was half of the boy band Robson & Jerome, two guys who sang cover songs like “Pretty Woman” and “Unchained Melody” that Simon Cowell talked into releasing singles on the UK radio. They made their first album and it SKYROCKETED to NUMBER 1, becoming the UK’s biggest record of 1995, even topping Oasis. I mean, shit. And you know what else? Their version of “Unchained Melody” sticking at #1 for so long was the reason the band Pulp’s “Common People” never got to #1 in the UK. Truth bullets!
